About This Project

4 urban wastewater treatment systems using a double SBR system (sequential biological), with denitrification phase, for the following flow rates:

  • 2 Equipment for 100 m3/day of treatment. Flow rate of 4.5 m3/h.
  • 2 Equipment for 180 m3/day of treatment. Feed flow 7.5 m3/h.

A discontinuous sequential reactor or SBR is an activated sludge treatment system whose operation is based on the sequence of filling and emptying cycles in the same tank. SBR systems have four main stages: Filling Agitation (denitrification), Aeration (nitrification), Decantation, and Extraction – Purging. In the process of an SBR the biological sludge develops in the reactor and remains there until it is eliminated in the purging process.
