About This Project

At Cellar A Cartuxa, in Portugal, we implemented an MBR system in the existing treatment plants, in order to achieve a correct operation of the WWTP and to minimize energy consumption. The chosen system was the microfiltration membrane module, welded by ultrasound, to avoid the breakage of the filter plates.

The system goes through several phases of treatment: physical pretreatment, biological pretreatment, filtration of treated water, aeration, and chemical cleaning. In addition to the design, manufacture and commissioning, revisions and extensions of the installation were made: modification of the prfv tank, filtration module, blower for cleaning the module, safety sensors, membrane cleaning equipment, oxygen control in biological reactor, power and maneuver panel, ventilation systems…
