About This Project

The treatment consists of a first stage of drying to reduce humidity (75%) by means of cooling-condensation-washing and a second stage of active carbon filters for the elimination of Siloxanes and VOCs. The plant reduces the pollutants below the established limits, being able to use the biogas with total safety in any equipment such as biofuel. Our installation, for a capacity of 365 Nm3/h of biogas, consists of the following equipment: Dehumidifier, Activated Carbon Filter, Post Cooler, and Refrigeration Machine.

The biogas from gasometers or biodigesters is circulated to the drying plant. First, you must enter the condensate pot to remove any particles and foams that the gas may contain. Then the biogas is sent to the next heat exchanger called a dehumidifier. In order to circulate the biogas through all the equipment, followed by the recuperator, a blower is installed. This equipment increases the biogas temperature due to the compression to drive the gas. For the production of cold water and meet the energy needs of the heat exchange equipment, a cooling machine (Chiller) is installed. Finally, the biogas is sent to an Active Carbon Filter in charge of the elimination of the main pollutants (siloxanes).
